Select Lever type:
Harley-Davidson transmissions have either a straight or offset shifter arm on the transmission. These were installed randomly on all models of Big Twins. The type of shifter arm you have determines which style of shifter you select when ordering your new suicide clutch kit. To determine which type you have, look where the stock transmission shift linkage connects to the arm that connects to your transmission. This assembly is located on the primary drive side of the bike, just behind the inside primary cover opposite the transmission case. The lever is probably gray or zinc plated cast metal. If your lever is perfectly straight, select one of the straight styles from the drop down list box on the order page. If the lever has about a 1/8 to 1/4 inch offset, select one of the offset models.

Next determine if you want the factory chrome shift handle or you want to install your own custom shift handle. The factory chrome handle looks like the shift handle image at the top of the page. The threaded handle has no knob but instead comes with a 3/8 by 16 threaded end which allows you to add your own custom knob. The factory handle knob is not removable so be certain to order the one you prefer.
